Hotel Riu Plaza London Victoria Review: Worth it?
Looking for where to stay in London? Here’s my Hotel Riu Plaza London Victoria Review.
Hotel Riu Plaza London Victoria Review
If you’re anything like me, choosing a hotel in London can feel a little overwhelming—there are just so many options! On a recent trip to London, I stayed at Hotel Riu Plaza London Victoria, a sleek 4-star spot that’s just steps away from Buckingham Palace, Victoria Station, and some of the city’s best neighborhoods.
In this post, I’ll give you all the details from my stay—what I loved and whether I think it’s worth the price tag. If you’re wondering whether this centrally located hotel is a fit for you, keep reading.
Location
A major factor in deciding where to stay in London –especially if you only have 1 day in London is location! Hotel Riu Plaza London Victoria is located in the Westminster area which is centrally located near all of the major attractions. I wanted somewhere that was easily accessible especially because it was my grandmother’s and partner’s first time visiting London!
Below I just wanted to show you all how close the hotel is to Buckingham Palace! ⬇️
Walking into the lobby you’ll be greeted by friendly hotel staff and an entrance with modern, stylish furniture. After a long flight from NYC, we were ready to get settled and relax in our hotel room.

Rooms:
The front desk was so kind enough to give us a gorgeous room on a higher floor with views of the London Eye! We booked the deluxe family triple room and it was incredibly spacious. A queen bed with a nice side desk to get some work done.
Now- the bathrooms! I was honestly shocked at how big the bathrooms were because hotels in Europe aren’t really known for having a lot of space. The only thing was the sinks were unusually low, but that wasn’t really a big deal.
Breakfast
One of my favorite features of this hotel stay was the buffet breakfast! I’ll be the first to tell you, hotel breakfasts are NOT created equal. I was pleasantly surprised at the Hotel Riu Plaza’s breakfast selection. The dining area is located across the street from the hotel where you are greeted by a host & your room number is taken down.
At this morning breakfast buffet you’ll find everything from belgian waffles, beans & toast (very on-brand for England,) an array of fruits and veggies, an assortment of teas coffees, fresh juices–you name it!
It was refreshing to sit down peacefully and enjoy breakfast together while watching the double-decker buses go by. Truly the perfect start to our morning before heading out and exploring London for the day.
Lobby Bar
After a long day of sight-seeing, I cannot tell you how lovely it was to have a little lobby bar to grab a drink for a night cap with the family! We had just taken a cab over to Harrods right before they closed (which is an absolute must-see in London in my opinion,) and came back to the hotel to decompress after a long day. We also were preparing for our trip to Paris the next day!
The hotel lobby bar itself is small–but has a generous amount of seating areas! There are a few bar tops you can sit at, but we opted for cozier seats in a little nook across from the bar. If you don’t have the energy/time to go out in London & find a cocktail bar, the hotel’s bar is perfect for something more chill but still trendy.
Final Thoughts:
Would I stay at the Hotel Riu Plaza London Victoria again? Absolutely. The hotel was located in a great area for sight-seeing, the staff were so kind AND the breakfast buffet really did it for me. Although this was my first experience with RIU hotels, I’m sure it won’t be my last!
